XP PRO SP2 Media Center 2005 Help

Hello all!
I am running on a ZD8110 Pavilion Media Center Notebook.
I have had the notebook for a very short time and it is starting to
slow down on me. With a 1GB of memory and 3.2GHZ HT 800Mhz front side
buss I expected a little better performance.
I have run my spy ware apps in safe mode, the virus protection in safe
mode to get ride of anything.
Now it seems that I am running into some O/S problems and I wanted to
see if anyone can provide some solutions other than what HP online
offered. (Which was sys restore (done) and O/S reload (not yet).

When I run scandisk in the cmd prompt it works through the hard - drive
then prompts that windows needs to copy missing files into DLL cache.
Insert Microsoft Windows XP PRO 2 SP2 "disk 2" My notebook did not
come with dual O/S disk. Only the Media Center DVD and additional
driver disk. I tried both after getting the message and it prompts me
that I need to load the correct disk.

HP told me to do a system restore. This did not fix the problem then
they said I need to format and reload the O/S. Before a full reload I
would like to attempt to fix the true problem. Instead of starting
over. I downloaded a program that scanned my PC and said it would
replace all missing DLL files and it found over 200 reg errors/missing
paths. It offered to delete them if I purchased the application. I
did not purchase and did not delete the entries. Can I fix these
problems manually? Does Microsoft have some type of app to add the DLL
files? Is there away to find out what DLL files are missing? I need
direction on the DLL file issues and replacements, registry issues and
over all sys maintenance, any type of link or PDF. Or advice would
rock!

I would like to create a good outline of daily and weekly XP eminence
schedule to prevent these types of problems from coming back after I
repair or reload the O/S.
..
I was also going through my logs and I am having several errors and
warnings.

Here are a few:

Warning:

The DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address

I am having issues with XP PRO MEDIA CENTER 2005.

I am going through my logs and I am seeing several errors. I ran
Download a third party software product that scanned the system and it
Seems like I am missing several DLL files and have several registry
Errors that look paths that no longer exist.

Here are some of the System log errors and warnings I am seeing.

Any help would be great. I would really like someone to point me in
The direction on where to find the documentation to manually repair
some
of these problems or find a free application that is recommended by
Microsoft to help with this.
Any links or useful info that can help me get this sweet
ride running smooth again would be great.

the Media Center Edition disk is the correct disk (i got this message when
repairing MCE 2005). MCE is built on top of XPPRO, and the install says it's
installing XPPRO.

the "SP2 disk 2" part should be on the 1st disk of your install set. (you
may have to direct the prompt to "winip52.sp2" file, or "i386" folder (i
don't recall which one the prompt was looking for))

since your prompt is asking for it, i assume it's on the disk you purchased.
barring this, you CAN order the sp2 disk here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

it's free, and something to have around.

hope this helps
