Recently bought a Dell with windows xp pro. . . when opening a new "tab", i
get the message you have opened a new tab, etc., etc.. . at the bottom is a
check box you can check to keep the page from opening again. . "do not show
this page again". . but it doesn not work. . each time i open a new tab, i
get the window even thought i have checked the box. . any way of keeping
this page from appearing every time i open a tab???
thanks for any help. .. .

This is either an Internet Explorer 7, or Firefox problem, that is to say it
is browser related and not XP related.

You might get better advice asking in a browser group.

Did a Norton or McAfee free-trial come preinstalled on the machine? Are you
still using it or have you uninstalled it and replaced it with something
else?
