XP Pro F1 Screen Halts Bootup

Now whenever I boot my XP Pro computer, the first screen
that pops up is a black and white one that lists the
details of the motherboard (Intel and SN), processor
speed, and information about amount of RAM, the
harddrives and the CDROM and DVD drives. The boot
process stalls at this point until I press the F1 key.
Don't know why this screen started appearing, but would
like to get rid of it so my boot process flows without
having to manually interced (by pressing the F1 key).
Can anyone assist? Thanks in advance.

The BIOS has reverted back to it's "Default" values.
When this happens, at boot time the system stops &
displays that message so the user can enter BIOS &
make appropriate changes. Simply pressing "F1" is
the continue button. The flag that indicates BIOS is
working in Default mode stays set. This is why you
get this message at each restart.
Consult your users manual on BIOS settings. Using
defaults will enable a high % of all peripherals in the
PC that you may not need or want. Defaults also set
the machine to work at un-optimized settings.

OK. Changed a few of the bios settings and saved them.
But the boot process is still halted each time while it
waits for me to press the F1 key. By the way, this
screen does NOT offer options for entering the bios mode,
the only option is pressing the F1 key to continue. Is
there something else I can try to prevent this screen
from halting my boot process? Once again, thanks in
advance.

Set "Halt On" to No Errors.
Set the hard drive as the first boot device. It may read "HDD-0", "HDD" or
something similar.
Save and exit.
