XP-Pro Easy CD Creator & floppy drive updates

When I purchased my computer about 2 years ago it came w/ the Windows98
OS along with Adaptec/Roxio's Easy CD Creator v4.14 (that's what is on the
floppy). I purchased a box of pre-formatted floppies which worked fine.
Between Jan. 2003 & about Oct. 2003 I had taken my computer to work. Around
Oct./Nov. my office purchased a Dell w/ XP-Pro. The local company it was
purchased from said that Win98 would'nt be supported much longer and that if
I was interested he would switch my computer for free before I took it home.
So I switched to XP-Pro.
1. Since this switch, the office computer, having everything
pre-installed, performs as expected. However, my computer's floppy drive
now refuses to use one of the "new" floppies, or read any other floppy
without first reformatting the disk. If I reformat a "new" disk it works
fine on my computer - but I cannot transfer files to the office. Then the
office computer refuses to read the disk & wants it reformatted again! The
"new" floppies work on the office computer, but I can't transfer files to my
computer.
2. Also, due to having my OS switched, I now need to reload the Easy CD
Creator. However, because the floppy won't read the install disk, I can't
reload the original driver which would allow me to download driver updates
for XP.
Both computers have the same versions of XP-Pro, Office 2002 etc..
None of this makes any sense to anyone I've spoke with. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
