XP Pro as file server for XP Home

I have a desktop PC running XP Pro sp2. I am wanting to buy a laptop,
which will probably come with XP Home, and from the laptop I need to be
able to:

1 Access my XP Pro PC using Remote Desktop; and
2 Have my XP Pro PC acting as a file server so I can access its
documents on the XP Home laptop i.e. so that I can access the same
documents on both PCs

Having browsed this group, I'm pretty sure that the remote desktop part
will work, though would appreciate confirmation of this. I'm not so
sure about the file servrer part though. Could someone kindly let me
know if this will work with the combination of XP versions?

For sharing files, set up a home network. The network wizard should do all
you
want.
