Well goodie goodie for you Frank. However, you stated EVERYONE AT MICROSOFT
for helping us resolve a few initial gilitches. No one was holding my hand
and fixing my INITIAL GLITCHES! If you want an extra copy of Vista, I Posted
mine on Ebay for .50 cents. It's not even worth that much in my opinion.
And why are you here?

Oh, I see. Vista just poofed itself onto all the workstations with no
human intervention.

Richard stated that because you had a volume license there wasn't any
cost involved. And my reply was a snide way of stating otherwise. You
verified my comments.

What a schrub you are Frank. Of course Microsoft is going to hold your hand
and kiss your check book to.

Ok here's an example of so-called "MS hand holding". We run a number of
dual monitors. On one setup the secondary monitor (a crt) would not
respond to resolution changes even with the correct, latest Vista
drivers from ATI installed.
MS's "suggestion" was to delete the card in sys props, re-boot and let
Vista install the display drivers that came with Vista.
It worked!
However, the help from MVP's and single users (like yourself) in these
ng's is really the best way to go. It's fast and you get a lot of
recommendations. A lot of times all you really have to do is "search"
the ng's and you'll find what you're looking for. We've at the very
bottom of the help chain from MS. They don't jump thru any hoops for
small companies like ours. We are nothing special. We still have to
fight for every response and they don't always work.
I prefer to come here first and 99% of the time I find what I'm looking for.

All Vista, all day! We have completely switch over to Vista Ultimate 32

We want to thank everyone at Microsoft and in this ng for helping us
resolve a few initial glitches which we encountered months ago and with
developing such smooth, powerful and exciting new OS.

"exciting"?
ok, but your breath is fogging up the displays :)
Thanks to all!

Oh, I see, no real productivity gains, just spending lots of money to do
the same thing, because XP is being "phased out".

"fazed", actually
And just how was it "beneficial", if it wasn't in productivity?

All righty then, want to buy some land in Kansas?

includes a free bridge that crosses the east river, and prime land for building a luxury

Yeah, but I like to occasionally throw a "bone" to the open sores people.
But I'm personally using Longhorn Server Beta3 (x32 & x64), running them
as clients.

Requiring the stats I asked for isn't asking too much to prove a point.
If he can't, then yes, I would say he would be wrong.

Terry, we are a privately held, closed corporation. Most all of our work
is done under NDA as it involves trade secrets and intellectual property
which is proprietary in nature. As such we only release statistical data
as required under agreements with clients or governments.
In all probability, our stats would have nothing to do with yours or
anyone’s else situation and would therefore be meaningless.
Anyway, real world testing is the only real test of how newly deployed
systems will function and those conditions and testing parameters are
exclusive in each case.
That's why we did side-by-side (with XP) evaluations.

Frank,

Governments? The one's I've read about aren't planning to "move
forward" any time soon. The "stats" I was asking for was how the
company came to the logical decision that "moving forward" to Vista was;
1. Beneficial
2. Cost effective
3. Productivity increase
4. ANY ROI

It doesn't matter what your company does. It's just that someone
boasting they've moved to Vista is only that, a boast. Nothing has been
gained by it. By the time XP is on it's way out, it will be a
completely different story. But making a corporate jump now isn't a
wise move IMO, and that opinion appears to be inline with the largest
corporations around the globe.

But if you're happy, that's all that matters I guess, isn't it.

Why are you so upset that a company has decided to, for reasons of their
own - not yours, move entirely to Vista?
