xp install problem ***expert advice requested***

after inserting the win xp cd, it checks hardware. then when it is supposed
to bring up the options to setup or repair, it brings up 'an INF file
txtsetup.sif is missing or corrupt' Ive read alot of post about this issue,
but none of them have a way to fix it. all hardware is the same as when I
fist installed, I just formatted the drive to do a clean install. have tried
with a diff harddrive, also tried with same hard drive in a different comp.
nothin. also tried bootin with a floppy with both hd's in 2 diff comps. any
ideas are greatly appreciated :)

click start button then click run then type in
/scannow then press enter.

& type sfc /? then press enter.
