Weird XP install problem

I have been trying to install XP on my second system. It is an AMD 64 bit
system. I am installing off a DVD drive if that matters.

I am able to install win2000 without problems and right now I'm running 64
bit Vista which installed fine.

Before I installed Vista I tried to install XP Pro upgrade from its setup
disc. I've deleted the partition and slow formatted the drive. Installation
begins alright until I get to the driver installs where it rejects the
drivers - for every piece of hardware. I've repeated this process several
times with the same results. I then tried the XP Pro full install disc I used
with my other system to see if it was the specific CD I was using. Same
problem! Any ideas? Might it be the the DVD although that does not explain
why 2000 installs and Vista installs.

Sorry, I'm just a member of the peanut gallery, I don't think that you will
be getting an answer to your problem.
I've had almost the same problem, with not being able to install xppro full
and xppro upgrade. Both stops setup when neither can find a dll that was
previously on each disk. This happened just after I had loaded in the long
string of numbers given to me when I had authintication done on each disc. I
had to buy a xphome disc and install that. I guess that's ok, but I feel that
I'm a victim of BG's paranoia!!! That's almost $400 lost because I can't use
either disc now.
Good Luck
