XP IE pics no show

Sometimes when I go to this or that web page, the pics don't show,

just the "x" placeholder. This happens espeically if there are a lot

of pics onthe page. Reloading thepage often helps. What's going on?

Is there some kind of timeout setting that can help get all the pics

the first time the page is loaded?

using XP Pro, all up to date.

Right clicking the placeholder and seleting Show Picture brings the pic, but
how come sometimes that's necessary to get the pic loaded? Why isn't it
automatic?

Scott,

First, make sure if the "Show Pictures" option is turned on in Advanced tab
of Internet Options.
If it is already on, refer this MSKB article:

Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet Explorer
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283807

This problem is also seen in computers where Norton Internet Security (any
other firewall with ad-blocking support) Ad-blocks is turned on.

Thanks. Must be the ad blocker. Odd thing is, for any given page,
sometimes all the pics load and sometimes not.
