XP Home keeps asking for activation

My friend has windows xp home sp2 and it keeps asking her to activation
windows. She asked me what could be the problem but i necer come across this
problem before. I told her that i can have a look to find out what the
problem is but i will not be available to have a look at her pc til next
saturday.

I have searched on microsoft to find out, how the problem can be fixed but i
can't find anything.

Is were is way that this problem can be fixed.

Need more info, is this a valid XP installation, not pirated? Has any
hardware been changed in the PC recently? Has the activate online and by
phone options been tried?

Yes it is a vaild copy of win xp home. I don't know if any hardware has been
changed in the pc. It has also been actved by phone not online.
