XP Home failed to remove programs

Mr. Low

Hi,

I tried to remove a few outdated program namely Abode Reader 8 and Sun Open
Office 2.4 using the Add / Remove program from the Control Panel.

Surprisingly my effort was unsuceessful. The removal progression indicator
rolled backwards at the final stage of the run.

May I know why ? I have turn off the third party firewall but still could
not fix the problem. Is there any solution for this ?

Thanks

Low

there are a few things
that can cause a failure
to uninstall software.

for example: the data
required to uninstall the
software is missing

or another example is
that there are active
processes for that particular
software loaded and
running in memory.

---------------------

because understanding
the processes may be
confusing for some people,

a computer user can boot
into safe mode and then
uninstall the program.

----------------

another method that can be
used when uninstalling fails,
is to locate the parent
folder via explorer and simply
delete all the files for that
program.

then use a registry cleaner
to remove the orphaned
registry keys left behind
that belong to that software.

I recommend a freeware
called "eusing"

If you have an issue with that program then state what it is or are you just
trolling?

Problem is that it is not a program. It is merely a piece of trash that
causes more damage than a user already has.
THAT is the issue.

I think the point has been well answered in the remainder of the thread -
don't you?
