Will I have problems if I upgrade XP Home Edition to XP
Pro on an HP Pavilion A250N that has all of the OEM HP
software? Any experience...

.
It should go smoothly but you will have to install all
security updates, SP1, etc.

Also, HP support will may no longer be willing to help you. You system was
originally configured for Home and that is what the support info states.
They may refuse to help with another operating system.

I would say - quite probably. HP (and more the Compaq side) uses a lot
of proprietary hardware which has to have their customised versions of
some system components. I would not want to try with an upgrade that
did not come from HP (and it would void your warranty if you did)

I did the same thing to my Dell laptop. As was already said, they
probably won't support you after the upgrade but as long as you have a
separate drivers/apps disc it should go well. I know HP just gives a
recovery disc a lot of times.
