XP Defrag Error Message

Can you help? My system has slowed way down and I ran
defrag to clean up the disk and it stopped after a few
seconds with the following error message. "The scan has
been terminated because of an error found in the file
c:\System Volume Information\_restore{C526307A-F0B9-4EA4-
80E4-D9BE1E709721}RP171\change.log.4
Since I cannot finish my defrag, can you suggest what I
need to do to resolve the error in my Inspiron 4000
notebook with XP operating system.
Thanks

First thing to do is to run Error Checking.

Open the Help and Support Center and look for the article entitled
"Detecting and repairing disk errors".

Try turning off System Restore, reboot, then turn it back on.
