Your error is named THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER and is most commonly
associated with a faulty video driver or a hardware problem with the
video card.

The first thing to try is to get the latest Windows XP drivers for
your specific make and model of video card from the manufacturer's web
site (note for brand name computers such as HP, Dell, Compaq etc. that
would be the computer manufacturer's web site) and install these.

If that does not resolve the issue the post a further response back
here and we will proceed to delve deeper into the issue.

Good luck

hello all i had the same problem as discussed here so i uninstalled all
my ati software and drivers i got ati x800 gto and then installed the
latest from the web started playig nfs got a bit happy then after a
visit to the bathroom found the pc dead..as always while running the
'video-intensive'application the pc stalls the screen says no signal
as if the unit is shut of then screen goes blank and u got random noise
which is like leftovers from the game...its such a mess the new drivers
didnt solve this cause i really dont wanna like the option of turning
of my cards hardware accelaration of as discussed in a microsoft
forum.i dont think my memory is faulty like some forums were talking
about..im almost definite all this started when i decided to run a
directx 9c setup from a new game even if i was like 100% that was the
version i had already..call me superstitious..i dont know..another
interesting thing is that i have been putting alot of pressure on my
pc in terms of encoding home made videos to dvds i dont know it smells
like corruption but the thought of hardware malfunction is scary!dear
ron please give me some insight into fixing this
THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER bug!pleaaase its killing me i cant play
games!!best regards

nik
