XP Client on 2000 Server AD - authentication problems

B

Bob

A WinXP client on a Win2000 Server running AD is not
reconnecting properly. I have removed both the user and
computer from the domain and re-attached several times.
Each time, the process is successful - network drives and
shared printers are visible.

However, after the XP client re-boots, while the user
login to the domain is successful, neither the network
drives nor printers are accessable.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bob,

This is a problem that vexed me for awhile back for a short period of time.
XP has a 'network logon optimization' process and when this is enabled you
often do not get the mapped network drives from your logon script. Well, at
least not with any consistency. I might suggest disabling this. That
should resolve your issues.

HTH,

Cary
