XP and Dhcp client

hi all,

got a strange problem. My XP worked fine untill this morning. All of a
sudden my nic cant get an Ip adress from my DHCP-server. All other
computers connected to the server gets an IP adress.

I looked under services and it seems that there are 2 services that fail
to start. In the system log theres an error saying that the
DHCP-client couldnt start since it depends on the service NetBIOS over
TCP/IP, which couldnt start due to a unit, that is connected to the
computer, doesnt work. I have no idea what that unit should or could be.

I have tried to start the DHCP-client manually without luck. Same goes
for TCP/IP NetBIOS helper.

Any ideas what could have caused this problem? And how I can fix it? I
have tried to reset the router, uninstall network protocols, reinstalled
winsock2 all without any luck. Im running Win XP Service Pack 2 with
Etrust antivirus.

Suggest trying with a known working card.
Well, it affects both my on-board Relatek RTL8169/8110 and my wireless
RTL8180 cards. Both worked like a charm until yesterday morning...

The last few days I have tried several things. Winsocks have been repair
and reinstalled, I have scanned for both virus and spyware, I have
reinstalled the card and the driver (both cards) but still no luck. The
two services DHCP-client and TCP/IP NetBIOS helper still wont start.

Anyone?
