DHCPNACK - HELP!

P

Poppe

Hello

I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. Sometimes the connection
works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Event log says this error:

The IP address lease x.x.x.x for the Network Card with network address xxx
has been denied by the
DHCP server x.x.x.x (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

I removed the details, but you can get the idea what is wrong.
Is there something i could do, or is this a cause by operators wrong
settings?

I have automatic DHCP enabled.

If i stop the service "TCP/IP NETBIOS HELPER" the connection seems to work.
What does that service do?

Please help!

The IP address lease x.x.x.x for the Network Card with network address xxx
has been denied by the
DHCP server x.x.x.x (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

Times I've seen that it is a conflict with another station. That may
be why it's intermittent. Even set to auto I've seen systems stuck on
trying to get their previous address back from the DHCP server. As a
test try giving it a fixed address you're sure won't conflict with
others.
