what is difference between xp 64 bit edition and vista 64 bit
which one should i prefer for my laptop
config (1.6ghz x2 turion, 512 ram, 6150go nvidia graphics etc.) since i am
using standard xp pro 32 bit edition and why?

Perhaps you might want to consider as whether your laptop hw actually
supports 64bit - drivers are available?
And also as to whether your software can make use of 64bit
Also from what I read about Vista +1gb might be more prudent
