To my best knowledge, XP64 full is already available, but it will not be
supported by XPSP2.

Not fully compatable...in fact the OS specifically checks to see if you have
an Athlon64 proc before installing. There has been a compatable one
released to OEMs though. The main difference is how badly the Intel system
handles extended memory, mainly due to the addressing differences(AMD
40-bit, Intel 36-bit).

Lets not even mention the fact that Intels AMD64 chips actually report a
48bit bit virtual address space (I think AMD actually has 48bits not 40 but
I'd have to check) like AMD's. But the memory controller only does 36bits as
you mention. If Intel would have decided to report the proper virtual
address space size there wouldn't be such a big problem.
