XL 2000 LOCKS UP CUT/COPY/PASTE

Workbook opens fine and I am able to enter data as
necessary. However, when I attempt to use formulas or
cut/copy/paste function workstation locks up and I have to
reboot losing all data entered. This problem has been
occuring for more than 3 months now and I'm sick and tired
of not being able to complete projects on time. Now, it
seems that when I open Word and attempt to enter something
in header/footer the same thing is occuring. ANY
SUGGESTIONS OR SOLUTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but as this has laid
unanswered for a few days, try some of these.

1) Dependant on version try 'Detect & Repair' under the help menu
2) Tidy up your machine, either by running disk cleanup in later versions of
windows and deleting temp files or by searching for files ending in .tmp
3) Uncheck any add-ins that are checked under Tools>Add-ins...
4) Check you have no third party clipboard viewers
5) Check you have no OCR software or a problem with your version of Adobe
Acrobat Reader. (If installed)
6) Disable any AV software and see if the problem goes away.

Any of these may help, but do one at a time and check. If it doesn't fix
the issue you can presume that wasn't the reason and re-enable or re-install
