How does Windows Server 2000 or 2003 license on a XEON processor?

Do you have to buy advanced server on a system with 4 processors, since it
show up as 8 processors in the Task Manager?

If you want Windows to see all the processors and use them, then you will
need advanced.

If you want Windows to see all the processors and use them, then you will
need advanced.

If you have 4 physical CPU's you only need licenses for 4 CPU's - even
with HT Enabled you only have 4 physical CPU's. It's licenses based on
how many PHYSICAL CPU's you have.
