wupdater.exe trojan

My Norton AV told me I had a Trojan in the file C:/Program Files/Common
Files/wupdater.exe. Anybody know what this executable file is or does? I
can't delete it, either with an AV program or manually. It just sits there.
Any ideas on what it is for and how to delete it? Thanks.

BTW, AntiVir failed to detect it.

What did Norton call this Trojan ?

Reboot your PC into Safe Mode and perform a Full Scan of your PC and clean/delete any
infectors found then report back your results and the name of the Trojan.

I don't recall the name, and my Norton subscription is expired (so I'm
surprised it even caught it). I'm using AntiVir now, which detected and
deleted a number of worms, but didn't catch the Trojan. I rebooted in safe
mode and deleted the wupdater.exe file manually, along with the entire
"updater" folder containing 4 other files. I also emptied the Trash and
restarted in regular mode. The files appear to be pemanently deleted and
the machine seems to run normally without them.

Its more spyware than a trojan and not all AVs will detect such.Use
spybot or/and adaware together with your AV .
