wupdater.exe hangs during shutdown

Hi, I am running Windows XP home, SP1a. Wupdater.exe
hangs during the shut down process. Can anyone advise why
this is happening and how to fix it.

Wupdater.exe is known spyware!
Here are some must have tools these days to remove and
prevent spyware,use all of them and be sure to update
them before you use 'em. Good Luck
