When you first set up the email it asks for you to type in the host name for
your inbox, I simply typed in 'inbox' because I didnt know what it was.. Now
I can not recieve mail and it says there is an error in the host name. How do
I change this option and what is the host name suppose to be?

You need to find out the server names for your email account.
Who provides your email?

Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? What company provides you with
internet access and e-mail services?

Go to their web site and follow the instructions for Outlook Express if they do
not provide instructions for Vista's Windows Mail.

Mail server names are determined by the ISP. Check your ISP's
website for instructions.

I did and I cant find it. Maybe my problem is, is that you cant have an
actual 'microsoft' email like I am thinking, as example
(e-mail address removed). Is that at all possible? I went to www.microsoft.com
and just cant find the instructions.

Do you pay someone for Internet service?
If not, how do you get on the Internet? I understand you use a
wireless connection. Who provides that wireless connection?

Do you have any existing email addresses?

I live in an apartment complex where they provide free internet so the
internet service is called 'Airwave'. I connect from my desktop computer. I
have an existing email at hotmail.com but I wanted a new, and more
professional one so I assumed the one that came with Windows Vista would be
okay to use.

Email addresses can only be obtained from an Internet Service
provider or an email service provider.

Your best bet is to get a free email address from Gmail.
Go to http://gmail.com and sign up for an account.
Once you have that, you can either access your email via your web
browser, or you can also configure it for POP access, meaning
you can send and receive with the Windows Mail email program.
