LOL it's entirely upto u. However after all the discussions recently about ATI cards lately I thought it would have been a good hint not to buy one ;)

But hey its your money. And I guess I am being a little Biased against them after I have never had any problems with my Nvidia cards EVER! ;)

hmm well ati are readying the r580+ - a faster x1900xtx I believe, and at the same time are in the process of making the r600 - the 'next generation' card

nvidia are challenging this with the g80 - their next gen card

APPARENTLY, the r600 specs were leaked a while back:

65nm
64 Shader pipelines (Vec4+Scalar)
32 TMU's
32 ROPs
128 Shader Operations per Cycle
800MHz Core
102.4 billion shader ops/sec
512GFLOPs for the shaders
2 Billion triangles/sec
25.6 Gpixels/Gtexels/sec
256-bit 512MB 1.8GHz GDDR4 Memory
57.6 GB/sec Bandwidth (at 1.8GHz)
WGF2.0 Unified Shader

It does look quite insane
