Workgroup permissions

Hi,

Is it possible to set permissions/restrictions for a folder / file on a lan
(without server) with no domain? All computers are running XP Pro (SP2) on a
same Workgroup.

I have to restrict the access to certain users to a specific folder but I
don't know how!

Appreciate your help.

Yes, of course. The fact that you have XP Pro makes it very easy. Just
right-click on the folder and then click on the Security tab. You can
set permissions for only selected users to read/write to that folder.
Don't forget to add yourself and/or Administrator. If you have a lot of
users, make a new user group instead and add desired users to that
group. Then limit access to the folder to that group. Again, don't
forget to include the Administrator (or your account) in the group.
