Work Offline Error Window

Often times, but not all the time, if I request a web page, or navigate inside a web page, page backwards or forwards, I get a error window and the title of that window is "Work Offline". In the window it says "No connection to the Internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer click work offline.
Click Try Again to attempt to connect"
Then it has two buttons, one says "Work Offline" and the other says "Try Again"
Now, everytime, I click Try Again, and the web page loads or the content comes up. However this is getting very frustrating.
One more thing. I am on high speed cable modem working through a wireless router but have just started having this problem. The problem appears only on my laptop. The wierd thing here is that when I do a "ipconfig" entry in a command line I only get "Windows IP Configuration". However, I can ping my router and other web sites like www.yahoo.com etc.
Anybody run across something like this? Any answers.

I would first check for a virus and spyware. If the computer is
completely clean, then you may be having a hardware issue. You didn't
say if your laptop is using a built-in ethernet connector or a pc card.
Also, try a different cable. If you need more help, please repost with
a description of how the laptop is connecting to the Internet and what
your virus/spyware scan found.

Cheers,
