Word XP/header box not showing

I have a doc that has 5 section breaks for next page. I work in and out of
same type doc's all the time, but ran into one where it is not even pulling
up a blank box where you would even put the same or different header in.
Typically start a header on the third page (blank on first several pages).
It shows a blank header box, then no box and then the header box shows up at
the end of the document again. Worked with many problems before with lost
headers/footers when inserting etc., but as I said it doesn't even show a
blank box at all. I've looked at the section breaks and reveal formatting
before and after and cannot find anything that looks odd to have done this
including page setup. Any ideas?

Hi DAK

I can't think of a particular problem that would cause this difficulty. But
headers and footers are said to show early signs of corruption in the
document. Try copying out the contents of each section (omitting the section
break) into a new document. You'll have to re-create the headers and
footers. If that solves the problem, then the document may have had
corruption.
