Header problem

P

Patti Barden

Sorry, headers again.
For my book I have the first page for a title, (Odd page, no header or
footer.)
next page - even page (blank) have the Book Title as the header, page number
starting ii. OK

Because I want the Dedication, Forward, etc. to all start on the Odd page, I
created a new Section for each with nothing in the header but want the blank
pages and subsequent Sections to show a continuing page number.

Tried everything, mainly no even page shows up for me to put insert the page
number so it stays blank as does the even page Book Title as the Header.
Can you help me?
Thank you. Patti

If you use an Odd Page break, the even page that Word will insert (which you
will not see unless you display two pages in Print Preview) will be
completely blank; you cannot have a header or footer on it. This is okay, as
you should not be putting anything on these blank pages (it is conventional
to omit page numbers on most front matter pages). If you *must* put text on
the "blank" even page, then see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/InsEvnPgEndChap.htm (and note that
it's "foreword," not "forward").
