Word should be able to change contractions into proper words.

In Word, a neat addition to the Spell/Grammar check would be adding the
ability to remove all contractions in a document. It could even be a feature
in the Find/Replace menu. A lot of times, it's easier to use contractions
when typing but a pain to remove them all when you're done. I would imagine
that it's pretty easy to program all variations of contractions out there.
You could even have users select which contractions should be removed and
vice versa.

I'm currently using Word 2003.

In English, 's can represent "is" or "has," which could cause problems.

.... And it's also used for possessive, so I'm a little confused -

You want MS to add additional bloat to Word so you can take a shortcut by
intentionally typing content in a format you don't intend to retain & have
the feature remove it for you after the fact?

Hi Karibu,

If you have a set of contractions that you use regularly you can add those to the Autocorrect feature in Word. You could, for
example have autocorrect replace can't with 'cannot' or 'should not', etc. but when you go to Tools=>Autocorrect options, note that
there are already some corrections to common typing errors for some contractions, including can;t
