Word Crash

HELP! I just recently downloaded some patches which have finally allowed me to open word (XP) - for some reason the program just would not let me in - even after a re-install. Now - the prgram opens, but I get messages about not being able to open the tbrun9.dot template when tryinig to open and then if I try ot open any documents, I get a "this document is not available" message and when I try to exit - I get a message about saving changes to the "normal" file. I'm a WORD junkie and have never had problems before - and I DON'T like having to open my word documents in Works - just a pain

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you ahve any solutions, please feel free and encouraged to send them to my email - (e-mail address removed). THANKS!@

If I am not mistaken tbrun9.dot is an add-in for an old version of
Textbridge. Removing the add-in from the Word or Office startup folder would
be a good place to start.

The Works add-in for Word is a frequent trouble causer and will produce the
normal.dot prompt - uninstall it (see
http://www.gmayor.com/multiple_mail_merge_entries.htm)

If you are using Norton AV, uncheck its Office Plug-In.

Before restarting Word, clear up the junk left behind by the crashes -
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm

Rename normal.dot to oldnormal.dot then restart Word and run detect and
repair from the Help menu.
