Using templates in Word 2007

I work with documents created in Word 2000 with several macros to standardize
formatting. When I open the documents the macros are not there.
When I open a ,dot template I can see the macros listed but am told macros
are disabled.
The document is located in a trusted location I have checked the box to
enable all macros but I am still told macros are disables.
When I try to save the templacte in C:/prgram files/microsoft
offcie/templates I am told I do not have permission to save files in that
location (I am an administer and I cannot open word running as an
administrator)

This security is ridiculous.

The normal place for the templates would be

C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

All of my templates from earlier versions of Word that are located in that
folder work flawlessly in Word 2007. And, most of them include macros, user
forms, etc.
