Word Art...

Luther Moon

Is it alright to use WordArt or are there some inherent problems that I
should know about it's use. The one problem that I am having is not being
able to see the secondary folders that are produced when saving a page that
has WordArt in it. I have turned on "hidden folders" everywhere, but still,
the only place that I can see them is in Windows Explorer. I don't seem to
be able to verify if they have been published.

If a second question is allowed, I'd like to ask how to include "include"
pages in FP2003... or is there a better alternative?

Thanks all,

Luther

Some browsers may have issues with Word Art. It's best to convert all of
your images to JPEG or GIF format (depending on the image. Large complex
images are best in JPEG format. Small images with less colors or anything
animated should be a GIF). I've never used Word Art, so I have no idea about
the added folders.
As for "include" pages, these have their benefits. I use them to display the
same page through several different navigation points (it beats
creating/editing/updating a new page for each navbar I want the page to be
on. It's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the general idea of
why I use them). Just remember the include page has to reside inside the
same web you are accessing it from. This is a lesson I learned awhile back
( a long while back). I could see the page info on my system but no one else
could. All they saw was the line of include page code, not a page.

Thanks Ripper... I think that is my conclusion also after seeing the .gif
images produced by WordArt. I did a second version converting the WordArt
images to .jpg's and it is a lot better, albeit, a few steps of extra work.

Again, Thanks to all

I have already started converting everything to .jpg's and entering it that
way. Here is a start on the new look.

Are doing screen captures from Word for your WordArts images. I've heard
that that works well. Somewhere in this thread absolute positioning was
mentioned ... absolutely don't use it!

I think word art uses VML objects or something and there's an issue with
functionality/support in some browsers other than IE.

Much better. I dunno, maybe it's just my eyes, but Word Art always has a hokey look to it...your jpgs are much nicer.

I had some trooble (Is Crash a Scottish name?) with my abs one time. About
100 sit-ups later, everything was OK :>).

Maybe using a Word Processor for creating images is not such a good idea? I
tried using PhotoShop for my resume one time, that didn't work out either.

You know I'm just funnin' ya, dontcha :>).

LIES!!! DAMN LIES!!!

I've used it no problem for positioning background images, in tables no
less, for NS6x+, Mozilla1.4, IE5x+, Opera and FireFox. Who gives a crap
about anything else?
