Word 2003

When I double click on a file name to open it in word, I get the following
message:
"The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK and
then close open dialog boxes to continue." I click OK and my file opens.
This isn't a tragedy but it is a nuisance. Can anyone help?

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
