Word 2002 SP3 is Saving Slow

hi

I have a problem with word at the moment, when I save a new file to the
local drive, it takes at least 10s to save, when I save a new document to a
network drive it saves instantantiously, can anybody help with this? i.e.
speed up saving to the local drive and what is casuing this

Are there a lot of files in the folder you are saving to? FAT32 and still
NTFS are very slow on folders with a lot (2000 or more) of files. If so,
create subfolders to organize the structure of your work. Delete old files
from temp-folder can speed up, too. Should you use Outlook, have a look at
the journal-options, could be all opened and closed files form
office-applications are protocolled in the journal; disable these options.

Thanks, this appears to have sorted the problem, The temp folder had over
2000 files, once it was deleted there was a signifincant increase in
performance
