won't recognize hardware thru USB port

I am using win2K. I am connecting a digital camera using the USB
cable, and nothing happens. I am using a USB keyboard that works on
both of my USB ports, but neither will recognize the camera. I have
tried the option to search for new hardware, and nothing happens. I
can take the camera to work and plug it into my win2k system there and
it immediately shows a box that new hardware has been found. Any
ideas on what I should do???

Hi;
The other reply mentions the drive letter being present,
but first, has this camera ever worked with this computer?
If not check the USB spec for both (1.0, 2.0 )
that may be the problem. Also some cameras will not show
up until the are powered up and connected to USB.
