Won't boot

Building new machine, OS won't boot from HDD

Vist 64 OEM (however, stored into system32 folder?????)
nForce 680 SLI
Intel Q6600
4Gb RAM
1Tb HDD

OS has transferred to HDD (twice).
Blue screen pops and disappears instantly during normal mode boot attempts,
then reboots. Reboots during safe mode boot attempts.

Boots from DVD, can only clean (re)install; installation will not repair
itself.

Any advice is appreciated.

it is very possible that you have flaky memory, if your memory, or mainboard
has a flaky component, windows (any verion) will not install corectly or at
all.

Get a memory diagnostics app at: http://www.memtest.org/

I think you hit the nail on the head. Shortly after my original post, I had
removed two of the four DIMMs and the machine did boot. I've emailed the
MoBo's maker tech support with this info as well. I'll reinstall the DIMMs
and run the memcheck. Thanks
