WMP9series version

I was just at a wmp mini-faq site (an exellent resource:
http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html#morehelp), and
it says that the WMP9 series final release version is
9.0.0.2980. In my experiance, the higher the version
number, the more recent the version. The version I'm
runninig is 9.00.00.3075. So what gives? Do I need to
update, or is the mini-faq info?

Run "c:\windows\inf\unregmp2.exe /UpdateWMP" and you should be fine.

That error means that wmp.dll was locked by something during the QFE
install, which causes oddness like this. The product support team is aware
of this issue.
