WMP11 mfpmp crashing

I just installed Windows Vista Home Premium RTM (6000) on my machine a few
days ago. (I was previously testing build 5744). I still have some issues
with mfpmp.exe. When it's switching songs when it says "Media chaning",
(example - the song's over and it's going to the next song) mfpmp.exe
crashes, which causes WMP11 to stall out for a minute or two. When
mfpmp.exe crashes, when I get the next song to play, mfpmp is not running.
After the song is over, then mfpmp.exe comes back on for the next time. So
in other words, WMP11 gets stuck on "Media changing". My music does not
even have DRM on them but any WMA or MP3 file triggers mfpmp to start for
music. I had this issue in Windows Vista RC2 build 5744 also but did not
experience before that build. Anyone have any ideas what causes mfpmp to
crash so much? Besides this issue that still exists, all my other major
issues I had with Vista in previous builds have been fixed. Would this be
an issue with my Creative Audigy's beta driver by chance? Thanks.

Creative Audigy (using Creative's latest drivers, which are beta - would
this be the problem?)

May be some other service is crashing ur player. If so , it should be figured
out what is causing problem. Few Steps;
1. Click on start and type msconfig in text box and hit enter. Click
continue if it asks for permission.
2. Click on the tab Services.
3. CHECK Hide all microsoft services.
4. Click on disable all.
5. Restart your computer.
6. try your player now if it works now.
-----If YES----

Follow same steps and enable one by one every service and restart and check
weather your player is working or not. may be you would find which service is
causing problem.

Make sure that perticuler service should be disable and other should be
endable at last.
-------If NO-----

Follow same steps and enable all services.
Click on start and type cmd in text box and hit enter. If Command pront is
not open by this step, then try to open it form the Start button Menu. Type
sfc/scannow and hit enter.

Hope these steps will help you.

Well, tried everything you told me and it still has the problem. I had to
disable UAC to get the integrity scan to work. Thanks for the attempt.

Creat another user account and try form there.

If still problem, then get updates from microsoft's site. If still not
workng, then wait untill microsoft releases individiual setup for the player
as it is induilt for the time being and we cant not install indepedently now.
