Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Napster.
Also, delete all entries in the Registry.
Start>Run>type REGEDIT and press Enter
Under Edit click Find and type Napster, each entry it finds rightclick it
and click Delete, click F3 for more finds till finished.
Now make another app such as WMP, MusicMatch or WinAmp your default
player:

Thanks I did that and guess what..I deleted all Napster references and WMP 10
STILL goes there. I called Gateway Tech support and guess what!!!! They have
3rd party propriety software and are being compensated by Napster for having
them as the default music service. They will only delete Napster privatley
thru remote tech support but will not allow me to add what I want. Can you
believe that!! I have had it with Gateway!! This is my 3rd and very last
piece of crap from them.
Thanks "Byte" you were a help.
I still couldn't figure out how to substitute CDDB or AMG..

1)Delete the folder where it is installled.
2)Ignore all prompts.
3)Do the following very carefully.

remove the following keys from your registry:
Goto start, run, and type in regedit. Then surf down the list to find these
keys and delete them.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Napster
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu\&Programs\Napster
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu\&Programs\Napster
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Napster vXX

4)Reboot

Note: I suggest enabling system restore if ur using XP
Now u can install or run whatever you want.

These links do not pertain to my situation. I want Napster completely off my
pc. I cant get any cd info from them anyawy because Gateway and Napster are
in "cahoots" and after the trial period charge you for any cd info when
played in WMP10. I want to replace the Tools>Options with CDDB or AMG so I
can get cd info free and without pop-ups....

Contact Napster for the small app that lets you delete their program.
If they refuse, then manually uninstall all their files on your PC including
those in the Registry as I previously suggested.

More info:
CDDB is a CD Data Base and AMG is All Media Guide. Maybe the below
website is of some assistance. Looks like you may be stuck with Napster
unless you get someone to help you clean it out.

I have done 75% of your instructions. Only 1 last removal to check. Thanks!
Napster would NOT render that "delete/unnistall" info. All napster references
have been deleted in the register. I tried to put in CDDB(which I use 100%
with my CATraxx cataloging software) but I am not putting the entry string in
correctly..get error messages when entered.
