WMP codecs......

HELP! I have been using Media players for years, and this is new to me! I
went to play a wav file today, and I get error stating that codecs are
missing, can not load, etc. I can still play files thru Sony Soundforge, so
not sure exactly what the issue is. I have run all my adware programs,
defragment, and done all that I think I can do from what I know. I can sure
use a hand on this one......
