WMM2 refuses to start

WMM2 refuses to start and gices the error message "cannot be used
because the required audio hardware cannot be found on your computer"

I've already tried uninstalling & reinstalling the drivers for the audio
card without making any difference, so are there any other things I can try?

Hi there,

Did you reboot the machine after removing the drivers.

In addition, perhaps the correct approach would be...

1) remove audio card
2) boot machine and remove any references to the audio that are accessible
(See the Device Manager)
3) Power down
4) Install Audio card
5) Boot Machine and go through the "New Hard Ware Found" procedure.

Good Luck

No can do, the audio card's integrated onto the motherboard.

OK, got that, then try this...

1) go to the device manager and disable the audio
2) Reboot machine twice...honest
3) Via Device Manager enable audio
4) follow "New device found" etc

No hardware wizard appeared, so either I disabled the wrong thing or
it's just completely broke :)

Coming at this from a different angle, what is it that WMM is actually
looking for?
