WMM2 Closes

I've seen the PapaJohn's homepage but I can't find a solution to my problem! Whenever I attempt to add a title to any portion of the project, a video effect to any image or movie within the project, a video transition, or anything of that nature, the program simply closes. Can Someone tell me what to do???????? PleAsE!!!

Yess I can. I've just fount out and will happily answer the question. It has to do with the hardware acceleration. Rightclick on your desktop, chose properties and go to settings. Click advanced/troubbleshoot. Set the bar to "none". Klick OK allthe way out, start MM and u will see that it works.

well..,
in my case, it has nothing to do with hardware acceleration at all.
turns out it's a codec from PowerDVD causing the problem, filename is
caludfx.ax
renamed the file, then moviemaker can run perfectly stable.

that file is also mentioned in the XP's event viewer several times, causing
the moviemaker's hiccups
