WMM 6 (Vista) encoding/publishing question

In WMM 2.1 (from XP), there are tons of options to use when encoding video;
and often when I want to save space, or am just doing a simple video to put
online, I will encode in the small 512kb/s (320x240 or 428x240). if I need
decent quality, I’ve never needed more than the 1mb/s or 2mb/s settings.
However, it seems that versatility is now lost in WMM 6; especially when it
comes to widescreen formats, where the smallest setting is 3mb/s. Working on
a laptop, my hard drive space is limited, and I would like to be able to save
my videos in smaller formats. Will this option be available ever? As of
now, I just save the files on my laptop, transfer them to an XP desktop (with
WMM 2.1), re-save them in the smaller format, then transfer them back and
delete the large one. Its quite a pain...

Custom profiles used in XP will also work in Vista's Movie Maker.... make
whatever ones you want.

See my website's Save Movies > Custom WMV Profiles page
