WMI Win32_POTSModem and Win32_POTSModemToSerialPort Return No Instances

Hi all.
I am experiencing the above problem (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/
285895),
albeit on Windows 2000 Professional SP4.

I've tried rebuilding the WMI database and the bottom line is nothing
is returned for these two WMI classes, but everything else works
fine.
Can't get anything back either through WMI code that I write or using
Scriptomatic.

There's a GPRS card and an internal modem, both showing up in device
manager and fully functional. This code works on all other laptops
(but if I can find out why, or get a fix then for any future issues
I'll just apply it in a short space of time).

We've submitted a support ticket to Microsoft as we need a fix for
any
repeats of this, but does anyone have any ideas in the meanwhile?

Thanks,
Michael.
