WME Default DVD Player

A

~~Alan~~

I have Windows Media Edition 2005. Whenever I insert a DVD, the default
player is WME. I would like to change that to another application. I have
gone into My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types but I see no
entry that would let me change this.

I have another machine, Windows Home Edition, with an entry for a 3rd party
DVD player app. But I can not seem to duplicate this entry on my WME
system.

I know that like IE, WME is part of the OS, but I can change my default
browser. How can I change my default DVD player? Some assistance would be
appreciated

thank you,
~alan

Hi Alan,

From
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...moteviewasthedefaultvideoplayer.mspx?mfr=true

Press START on the remote, and then select Minimize.
On the Windows taskbar, click Start, and then click My Computer.
Right-click your DVD Drive, and then click Properties.
Select the AutoPlay tab.
From the drop-down box, select DVD movie, and then follow the instructions
on the screen.

You should be able to choose your default DVD player from the Autoplay tab.
If that does not help, please try this question in MCE specific
newsgroup(s).

I'll try this when I get home from work, I'll do this. I've done this
before and it fixed my problem.

certification or title will be in your favor.

Thanks,
