WMail wiped out all info in OE

I attached my old hard drive to my new computer as Drive K by using a
FireWire USB-2 attached to a terminal. I'm using Vista Home Premium. After
a couple of days I went to the old drive K to get folders and contacts from
OutLook Express and they were gone. Vista has entered all info from Windows
Mail into my Outlook folder. When I click the OutLook icon it brings up WMail.
I don't know much about computers but surely the files are somewhere. It is
important that I recover them. Is there a work around for this problem?
