Previously, i'm using WM 4.7 for SIP communications and
after XP SP2, it seems that SIP is no longer supported and
i don't want to use WM 5.0 since the presence is bad. Is
there anyway i can enable SIP on WM 4.7 back?

Wow ... hold on guys ...
I take it you are handling SIP via UDP ..

If you attempt to regress the installation of WM5 to
WM4.7.2009 SIP will still fail, this is due to the file
protection ... you need to remove ALL files associated
with WM5.0, and then re-install WM4.7.2009 it will work
correctly .. I've already had to do this

Greetings guys,

I've removed the files and revert back to WM4.7.2009 but
the account tab under option is gone. Is there is anything
that i missed out? Thanks.

Hello,

Not sure however SP2 modifies the remote call procedure used by windows
messenger 4.7.2009 which had some security flaws. That is why 4.7.3 is
installed automatically with SP2. It is not a question of removing WM5 you
must revet back to the old RCP.

Microsoft seems suggesting moving using windows messenger 5 for SIP, however
I have found messenger 5 quite unreliable when used with SIP. Is ther a way
to get SIP on 4.7.2009 working with XP SP2 ?

Thank you,
Regards,

Wilhelm
