Could you please post the link to the

Probably:

Do a Google search for PC Inspector. IIRC, they have a free
utility for recovering files from Smartmedia cards. Until
you've given it a shot don't mess with the card.

From the "Lost Photos on Media Card - Help" posting!

Thanks....I read that but was wondering
exactly which download the OP used.

I guess the best bet is from the developer?

.

I believe it is Smart Recovery. I used to have a camera
that used SM and the utility saved the contents of a card
for me.

The following site says the *demo* is free
but there is an activation fee if you actually
wish to recover the files...

Soooo....is it free or not?

OK...

BTW...according to the site...the demo
is free but there is an activation fee if
you wish to actually recover the files.

I was hoping the OP would verify this.

Not at my own computer now, but I think I still have a
copy of whatever it was that I used. I'll check it later
and post back.

I have it now. It was free for me. In fact everything on
the page you link to is free as far as I know. I had
archived my copy of Smart Recovery, but I brought back out
and it's fully functional. Works on all sorts of cards and
even hard drives, although I've only used the one time
myself on an SM card. It's a 6.2mb download.

OK..thanks for the info. It's nice to know
a free recovery program is available.

For some reason there's a testimonial
on the download page that mentions an
activation fee.
