wireless zero configuration will not start

I am running windows xp pro with sp 2 and the wireless zero configuration
service will not start even though it is set to automatic. I would start the
service, then go to change advance settings, the wireless tab, and choose
windows to manage the conncetion. Once I click ok, the wireless zero service
will stop. The wireless connection worked fine a few weeks ago but now it
goes off and on. I was able to get it working last night, but today when I
turned my laptop back on I get the same knowledge base article 871122 which
doesn't solve the problem. The connection works fine when I run the intel
PROset wireless service. Any suggestions?

Most wireless network cards are also "delivered" with their own software to
"manage" the wireless configuration (just like Windows Zreo Configuration!)
If this software is started up, the W.Z.C. may not start correctly. You
need to look and turn of this other software.
